NEBOSH National General Certificate

Designed primarily for non-specialists in health and safety who require sound initial training leading to a basic recognised qualification through examination and assessments. Accredited by the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA) as a level 3 award, the NEBOSH National General Certificate is the recognised safety qualification for the non-practitioner.
The Certificate is organised into 2 units: NGC1 – Management of Safety and Health and NGC2 – Controlling Workplace Hazards. These units can be studied and examined separately and as long as they are successfully completed within 5 years, together with the Practical Application (NGC3), candidates will be awarded the NEBOSH National General Certificate. Block and day release options are available. A course usually starts each month and is available nationwide.

IOSH Working Safely

Aimed at employees who have no management or supervisory responsibilities, this course will give an overview of basic responsibilities, an insight into common hazards and the corresponding precautions that are required. This is a practical course with exercises and end assessment. The one day programme provides an exceptionally cost effective way of getting the message across to your workforce.

IOSH Managing Safely

An established course in the UK, this is for managers and supervisors in any sector and any organisation. It is designed to help managers handle health and safety in their teams. The flexible programme covers all the main health and safety issues, and includes a session tackling the environment. The course is based on contact for 24 hours and has eight modules. It can be delivered over a full week or on single days and includes an end of course assessment and practical assignment. Successful candidates will be awarded the Certificate directly by IOSH. You can choose the standard IOSH course, or have a course tailored to your needs and accredited by IOSH to the Managing Safely standards. IOSH Supervising Safely and IOSH Directing Safely are also available.

NEBOSH Certificate in Fire and Risk Management

This course combines the Managment of Safety and Health unit (NGC1) of the NEBOSH National General Certificate with a 5 day unit on fire safety (FC1). Those who have already achieved the NEBOSH Certificate in the last 5 years will be exempt from the NGC1 unit. Other exemptions apply to other NEBOSH qualification holders. NGC1 and FC1 can be studied and examined individually. Both units (and the practical application) have to be completed within a five year period to be awarded the NEBOSH Certificate in Fire Safety and Risk Management.
